So often we have women say to us, "I want something that has never done before" or "I want something different and unique". Truth be told, every neckiline, silhouette, and color pattern has more than likely already been done.

 

One of our fashion idols is the legendary Madame Grès. She revolutionized the modern technique of draping and the idea of cutouts on gowns, but I assure you she was not the first. Before her it was the Greeks in the time of Caesar, and before the Greeks it was the Egyptians of  King Tut's era.  In fact...Google 'Madame Grès' and you will think you are looking at red carpet gowns from last year's Academy Awards. 

 

Fashion is an endless cycle of tweaking and adding and taking away and bringing back again. What was old is constantly becoming new again.

 

So when you are looking for your next gown (or shall we say...your next LENZ Collection gown), go for something that is unique for you. Choose the gown that makes you feel glamorous or exotic or different and don't worry about what everyone else, whoever everyone else may be, is doing. Because even if Marie Antoinette or Miss USA 4 years ago already wore something similar, remember that YOU haven't.
